Taranaki Lightning 5’s – 2023

The Taranaki Lighting 5’s Hockey Tournament will be held on the weekend of the 11/12 Feb 2023

The competition will consist of both a male and females  who will compete for the 5’s Cup!  There are a maximum of 24 teams in total for this tournament weekend.

The event is modelled off the Hockey Fast 5’s concept seen at the Nanjing Youth Olympics in 2014. In general terms, Teams consisting of  four field players and one goalie play high intensity games over a half field. These fields are surrounded by wooden boards to stop the ball from going out and teams were able to take shots at goal from anywhere!​​​​​​​
