National Secondary Schools Tournaments Results Day 5

NPGHS 1st XI nailed down third spot with a 1-0 win over Ashburton College at the Marie Fry Tournament in Christchurch. NPGHS went into the tournament with a ranking of 9th, so has made substantial improvement this year. At Rankin Cup NPBHS shared 13th place with Rangitoto College after a 2-2 draw in Wellington. At Johnson Cup in Hamilton, NPBHS 2nd XI came 13th after beating Otumoetai College 4-1, while Stratford HS had to settle for the wooden spoon, going down 6-0 to Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Ruamata. At the Olympic Stick Tournament in Tauranga, FDMC shared 11th place after a draw with Taupo-Nui-a-Tia College. A result was not available for the St Mary's Diocesan School game against Tararua College at the Eveline Hankers Memorial Tournament in Taupo, that game for 7th and 8th place. At the Jenny Hair Schoolgirls Tournament in Napier, Stratford HS lost their final game against Bethlehem College 6-0. Orewa College won the Mixed Tournament in Stratford, beating Pompallier College 3-2 in the final.
