U15 Quad Report - Wanganui and team to go to Nationals

Mini Games Wanganui Overall the weekend was a very good one. First Game up we had Wairarapa, we started a bit on the back foot and never really got into the game. Had some opportunities but never really moved forward on these. All in all we fought well in the 2nd half to only lose 4-0. Sunday Morning came round quick after having a good team talk the night before at the motel, we had Hawkes Bay who we lost to a couple of weeks before in napier 5-0. This game was a huge improvement on the night before fighting hard and stringing together passes that any team would find hard to stop. We opened the scoring with a well-planned goal. We defended well with Chris West having a brilliant game in the goal, but with a slight loss of concentration the team let through an easy goal by the bay causing a 1-1 draw. Players to stand out Chris West and Noel Arden in the defense. Last game saw us come up against the mighty Manawatu. The team to beat I thought of the weekend. We were tired as they were and we fought really well. Some great play by both teams with Brynn Chadwick and Jayden Roodbean linking up together well, finishing let us down and we let in two goals to Manawatu. We defended for most of the game and credit must go out to Chris West who played great, as did Tim Phillips and Noel Arden. The scores of these games didn’t really matter to us as we building up to Nationals in July, This team has the goods to do well, so get behind them and they can do a lot better than what they think.
