Women

Wanganui            1                              Jess Watkins

Hawkes Bay got off to a firing start opening the scoring in the 1^st minute through Erin Webber.  Despite numerous raids on their goal, Wanganui held on until finally striking back through Jess Watkins penalty corner strike in the 28^th minute.  Regrouping at half time, Wanganui showed their potential in the second half however lack of finishing proved costly as Hawkes Bay ran away with the game with 4 more goals.

Manawatu            1                              Kobe Oram

A young Manawatu team applied an immense amount of pressure to an out of sorts Central U21 team.  Manawatu opened the scoring in the 35^th minute through Kobe Oram, with Central striking right back through Helen Hughes.  With Central stepping up their game in the second half the deadlock was finally broken in the 68^th minute by Ashleigh Marfell.

In Central’s final game before heading to U21 Tournament next week, Manawatu made the lads work for their win.  With Central opening the scoring in the 29^th minute through Dylan Thomas, Manawatu struck back shortly after half time through goals to Todd McHardy and Troy Davey.  Central managed to equalise in the 45^th minute through Nathan Holt.  An injury to Marcus Emery saw Manawatu Coach Greg Clark take the field however with Central scoring two more goals, a last minute goal to Todd McHardy came too late to give Manawatu hope of levelling.

Wanganui            1                              Trent Williamson

Hawkes Bay proved too strong for Wanganui, who were missing numerous players.  Hawkes Bay opened the scoring in the 2^nd minute with Wanganui equalising shortly after.  Lead by Joe Hanks and Mark Ramage, Hawkes Bay continually raided Wanganui’s circle, however it was not all one way traffic as Wanganui applied pressure on the Hawkes Bay defence, however with several players earning time on the sideline made it harder to hold out a rampant Hawkes Bay

Central Hockey League takes a break for 2 weeks while the U21 teams travel to Hamilton for the National Tournament.  Round 4 will be held in Levin with Manawatu vs Wanganui and Hawkes Bay vs Taranaki
