1. Register

Open your web browser and cut and paste Click here

Go to the REGISTER button and click. Fill in your details.

2. Selecting your course 

If you are coaching Fun Sticks or Mini Sticks - Select Small Sticks 5-8

If you are coaching Kiwi Sticks or Kwik Sticks - Select Small Sticks 9-12

If you are coaching Secondary School teams - Select Youth

If you are coaching Club teams – Select Club

3. Enter and leave the portal when it suits you

You may stop and start the course at your leisure, with the system saving your exit point so you may return, starting where you left off.

4. Getting started

Click on Module 1 to get started. The course is sequential so you need to work through module by module.

5. Links to external resources

Within the modules, there is often additional information you need to click on, including

document downloads; resources on the internet; video clips of techniques

6. Have you understood?

Within the modules, you will frequently be given the opportunity to consolidate your learning using mini quizzes, for example -: True/False questions; Pop down menus with answers to select; click and drag answers

7. Warm Ups and Drills

On the screen page above, you will notice below Community Hockey - the word RESOURCES

8. Getting to the end of the last module

You will be asked to complete an exercise, based on a scenario given to you. Once done, follow the video instructions of Submitting a Module.

9. Rewarding your success as a coach - Printing your certificate

Congratulations - the completion of this on-line course.

Next you need to complete a practical coaching session at your Association, aligned to the level of the on-line course you’ve completed.

Once completed you become an accredited coach under the Hockey New Zealand Coach Pathway.
