The Year 7/8 & U16 Development program offers players the opportunity to develop their skills every Sunday morning in an encouraging and supportive environment. Players of all abilities are welcome!
The program will consist of one training a week with quality coaching aiming to develop our youth on and off the field.
Enjoyment is a key focus and Taranaki Hockey have created a program focusing on skill development and enjoyment
Y7/8 Development:
To be eligible to play in the Year 7/8 Festival, they must be in Year 7 or 8 to qualify for this. Players must have participated in the 5-week Festival Programme to take part in the tournament.
Festival Year 7/8:
Date: 28th– 30th September
Location: Whanganui
Travel Day: 28th September early morning
Travel back home: 30th September after tournament

U16 Development
To be eligible to play in the Lower North Island U15 Tournament, the players must be under the age of 16 years old as of 1st January 2026. Players must have participated in the 5-week Festival Programme to take part in the tournament.
